Batam Island

Where the racing line meets the shoreline.

Selamat Datang · Welcome

COME FOR THE RACE.
STAY FOR THE ISLANDS.

Seventeen thousand islands taught Indonesia how to welcome the world. We envision a private driving destination within that welcome — where the paddock gives way to white sand, the podium toast continues at a beach club, and ramah tamah, the Indonesian art of treating a guest like family, shapes the experience.

THE MARKET IS ACROSS THE STRAIT.
THE DESTINATION IS ALREADY FORMING.

Singapore brings international access, capital and collector culture. Batam brings scale and connectivity. Bintan proves the Riau Islands can sustain an established luxury-resort and golf ecosystem. Montagno connects those strengths through one defining destination.

The Destination

Our founding destination is planned for Batam Island — a short crossing from Singapore, yet a world away. The vision brings together a coastal technical circuit, collector-car services, country-club hospitality, family karting and trackside residences within an Indonesian archipelago of beaches, reefs and legendary hospitality.

The Development Vision

NOT A RACETRACK WITH AMENITIES.
A COMPLETE PRIVATE DESTINATION.

The location and final masterplan will be announced when the appropriate development framework is in place. The program is already clear: performance, hospitality, family experience and ownership designed together from the beginning.

Why Batam

Across the strait, a collector market waiting to drive.

Singapore is one of Asia’s most connected centers of wealth and collector-car culture, yet offers no permanent members’ circuit. Batam creates the possibility of a private driving destination within a short ferry crossing.

Beyond the Track

ONE ISLAND. EVERY THRILL.

The circuit is the crown jewel — but the vision is a complete multi-day destination where racing, the sea, family and Indonesian hospitality share one island experience. Race by day, then the archipelago takes over.

Arrive

A short crossing from Singapore. A world away.

Cross from Singapore in under an hour, then discover the Barelang Bridge — Batam’s own Golden Gate — and the island landscapes beyond.

Race

The crown jewel — circuit, karting, dirt.

An FIA-grade technical layout for members and international events, karting for every future racer, and a paddock village where the garage is part of the villa.

Take to the Water

From pit lane to open water.

A marina in the Nongsa tradition for yachts and boat racing, island-hopping through 300 islands of the Riau archipelago, and reef diving off Abang Island.

Live Beside It

Your car lives where you do.

Villas in the jungle canopy with the sea beyond — conceived with collector garages so the machines become part of the home and the wider club experience.

Slow Down

Spa, golf, beach — the family never leaves.

The other half of a race weekend: Indonesian spa rituals in the jungle canopy, infinity pools over the strait, championship golf next door, long lunches of archipelago cuisine over the water and a beach the kids never want to leave.

After Dark

The engines stop. The night doesn’t.

Podium celebrations become beach-club nights — international DJs, pool parties and the paddock lit like a festival.

The Hidden Gems

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD IS ALREADY WORLD-CLASS

Across the wider Riau Islands neighborhood: Banyan Tree’s villas above a granite coast, Southeast Asia’s largest man-made lagoon at Treasure Bay, a 1914 ocean liner reborn as the Doulos Phos ship hotel, and the Westin’s private island at Nirup. World-class names have already proved the destination market. Montagno introduces a different kind of anchor.

“You arrive for the apex. You stay for the ramah tamah — the warmth that turns a guest into family.”

World-class names quietly proved this coastline works. Montagno adds the crown jewel — and hands every visitor the whole archipelago: its beaches, its reefs, its tables and its welcome.

Destination Partners

WHERE THE WEEKEND GOES ON

Two hours from the paddock, the Riau Islands do something Batam’s coastline does better than anywhere: nothing at all. Telunas has spent twenty years perfecting it — Malay-inspired overwater architecture, family-style tables, and a village-first way of operating that made them the archipelago’s most quietly admired hosts. Members arrive through the same Sekupang harbour that brings them to the circuit.

“Two families. Twenty years. One vision.”

Founded in 2004 by Mike Schubert and Eric Baldwin, Telunas grew from one dock and six rooms into two resorts funded entirely by retained earnings — never investor capital. More than 100 local staff, an average tenure of 8.5 years, and a foundation that reinvests in the surrounding villages. It is the standard Montagno intends to hold itself to on this coast.
